"Well, you could always make something, too," Shiro pointed out. "I mean, we've just anything you would need here - and what we don't have, we can get. Iorlas already has a room for sewing, we've got hunters, magic-users, botanists ... Andarien and Shoneah work with metal, Daeron works with wood ..."
And that really was just touching the surface of what they could do.

Holly blinked, "Are you hiding a village in here?"
Miyuki chuckled, that was probably a good way to describe it. Though she didn't understand anything about thesis, she did understand that Holly would need resources.
"Nearly, there are a lot of rooms in this tent," the kitsune explained.

"Would you like a tour?" Shiro smiled at Holly. "I don't know how much time you have. Otherwise you can get a tour when you're ready to move in. Miyuki should have a room ready for you by ... what tomorrow? And then you can start bringing things whenever you're ready."
He looked to Miyuki to see if one day was a good estimate of when a room would be ready. There were no more empty ones, now that Jassin and Lashrael had moved in. The only reason there had been a spare room for them was because Mirania and Lamruil were sleeping in the one garden, even though the trees had just barely grown to the size they needed to build themselves a home there. Daeron was helping them with preparing the boards for it, though he wouldn't really be able to help them with the actual building.

Miyuki nodded, "A day is all I need, there won't be much of a bed, but there will be a room. If you want, I can also loan you a rune bag for packing, it can carry everything without getting heavy and so if there are things you want to keep, you won't have to leave it behind."
"Oh... that's okay, please don't trouble yourself," Holly protested.
She had only hoped to travel with them.
"Nah, it's no trouble," Miyuki waved it off, "We have some old bags and then when there's time I'll just rune one of yours."

"Take it from someone who fought it for a long time before giving in," Shoneah laughed. "If anyone here thinks you need something, you're gong to get it. Save your energy and don't bother protesting."
She still hadn't accepted a watch from Andarien, though since giving her the music box, he hadn't tried again, either.

Miyuki laughed, "You got that right! Hey, how about you leave your bag here and I'll rune it? If you don't mind leaving your stuff here."
"I don't mind, it's all catalogs and measuring equipment anyways," Holly replied taking her bag off her shoulder, "If you're sure."
"I'm sure, let Shiro take you on that tour. Then you'll have an idea of what you need to do your work."

Shiro grinned and held one arm out to Holly, offering, like a gentleman, to escort her through the tent.
"Ready when you are," he told her warmly. "And honestly, think about anything you'll need. Space, tables, equipment ... you name it. It's pretty amazing, what the people in our groups can do."

Holly gingerly took Shiro's arm, which was strange because she never had trouble before when she went to parties and such. Maybe because she viewed this as different.
"I'll keep that in mind," Holly replied softly as she let Shiro lead her through the tent.

Re: Going through Gemia - 119 4A
Shiro started with the bedrooms, showing her a few different ones so she could see that it didn't have to be just a square room, and then brought her to the other area and showed her the various work rooms. For the forge, Daeron's workshop and the lab, he just showed her the rooms briefly; but he spent a bit more time in Iorlas' workroom so that Holly could get a better feel for what she might need to be added in order for her to do what she needed.
From there, he showed her the gardens, and then, last but not least, he showed her what he thought she might possibly have missed most for the past ten years.
The bathrooms, with the bath tubs, the showers, and thick, fluffy towels.

Re: Going through Gemia - 119 4A
The first thing Holly thought of when she saw Iorlas' workshop was what she would need to not only work but to teach as well. Iorlas wanted to learn, and since Holly was coming along she should teach properly. Some of the things she could bring with her, but she would need dying vats and a separate workshop for dyes. Though finding the materials needed for dyes might be a bit complicated.
Upon seeing the bathrooms, Holly had to smile widely at the sight of them. Especially the shower, she loved baths, baths here were so troublesome. It was no wonder why people didn't bath more often!
By the time they were done the tour, as promised, Miyuki had also runed Holly's bag and showed her how it work. It was much lighter than when she first arrived.

Re: Going through Gemia - 119 4A
Shiro offered Holly his tablet once she had her bag back.
"If you write out what you need, we'll make sure to get as much as we can for you," he told her with a smile. "Do you know what you're going to do with your shop when you leave? Or how you'll tell people?"

Re: Going through Gemia - 119 4A
Holly sighed at the thought, "The shop will go to Amelia, she's been my apprentice for a number of years and out of anyone I think she has the skills needed to continue the shop. As for telling people..."
The truth was, Holly wasn't sure how she would tell anyone, simply because who would understand her wish?
"I had intended to leave letters at town hall for the council to carry out my wishes. There are specific ways I wish my estate to be divided... I'm not sure if I should tell Rose or not the real reason as to why I'm going..."

Re: Going through Gemia - 119 4A
Shiro shrugged. "It's up to you, of course, but as a friend, especially a friend as close as it seems the two of you are ... I would feel that she has the right to know. But that's just me."
Of course he couldn't - and never would - make her do something she didn't want to, but he would feel like he was lying if he were to leave someone, especially someone special to him, why he had to leave them.
Personally, he felt it might even be the only way Holly's departure would make any sense to her friend.

Re: Going through Gemia - 119 4A
Holly nodded slowly, it would help and she did want Rose to know she thought of her.
"Thank you," she told him, "And wish me luck."
Because she was going to need it before it was all said and done.

"I wish you luck," Shiro smiled warmly at Holly. "And if it doesn't go well, or if you feel like you need to leave sooner than later, feel free to just come here. You're always welcome."
"Or even if you just want to come," Kaito added eagerly, his golden eyes gleaming. "Just come! You don't even need a reason!"
From over in the play room, Iorlas called out teasingly, "Careful Kaito, you're going to scare her away."
Kaito blushed again, and Shiro chuckled softly.

Re: Going through Gemia - 119 4A
Holly nodded and laughed a bit at Iorlas' teasing. With a promise from Miyuki to have everything set up soon, Holly waved goodbye to her new traveling partners.
Or would be that friends? They seemed so close, and easily integrated her without her even having to really ask. It was so strange, but knowing she could now leave filled her with a lot of hope.
Knowing this, Holly quickly got to work, she let Amelia continue to man the front under the guise of needing to take inventory (which was true). She made note of what equipment she would need, and what stock she could take with her thanks to Miyuki. She wouldn't take everything, she needed to leave enough for Amelia (she would pay for the materials out of her own pocket since she rarely used money on herself).
She could also (much to her delight) keep her clothes and personal objects she had collected over the years. Holly wrote out her letters first before inviting Rose to come over to her place for a private meal. She wanted everything to be set before telling Rose of her plans.

Re: Going through Gemia - 119 4A
While it wasn't exactly rare for Rose to be invited to Holly's for dinner, it wasn't really common either. It was always exciting, though, as it meant some real time with her best friend - and away from her family.
As she always did, she brought with her a basket of fresh rolls from the bakery to complete the meal, and she had them covered with a small towel to keep them warm. She was smiling widely when she arrived at Holly's house, and when she did, she knocked smartly at the door and let herself in.
"Hello!" she called cheerfully, stepping inside and closing the door behind herself.

Re: Going through Gemia - 119 4A
"Hey," Holly waved, "I have some stew going in the back."
When she meant the back, she meant the back room that only Holly (and sometimes Rose) was allowed to enter. It had no windows and a lock on the inside. It was one of the few places where Holly even felt remotely comfortable in taking her bonnet off.
Because it was so isolated, it was also where she cooked, since she didn't want to cook up in her living area.

Re: Going through Gemia - 119 4A
Rose inhaled deeply and let it out with a smile. "Smells good," she grinned. She set the basket down on the counter and used both hands to push her hood back. Her dark curls came tumbling out, spilling over her shoulders. It was rare that she removed her hood - rarer still, her cloak - and she really only did it when she was her most comfortable.
"So," she said, clapping her hands together and turning to Holly. "It's not Valenya, and there are no holidays going on ... what's the occasion?"
She was curious, which was nothing new, but more curious than usual.

Re: Going through Gemia - 119 4A
Rose has always been quick to pick up on things, but Holly was a bit predictable at times as well.
"I have some news to share, and perhaps a bit of a confession to make," Holly admitted, "I figured it would be best to do it over a private dinner."
It was the last private dinner they would have so it was fitting.

"A confession?" Rose blinked in surprise. "All right, now I'm worried." Her brow furrowed slightly. "What's going on?"
She picked up the basket again and held it out to Holly. She couldn't think of anything that Holly would need to confess - no one had a problem with Holly. She had never done anything to upset people. She wouldn't do anything to upset anyone.
Would she?

Re: Going through Gemia - 119 4A
Holly took the basket and peeked in, she smiled when she saw that Holly had brought rolls. Bringing it over to the table that was carefully set, Holly explained.
"I'm leaving with the travelers in a few days..."
That part was probably the easiest admission.

"What?"
It was a good thing Rose wasn't holding the basket anymore, because if she had been it would have ended up on the floor. She stared at Holly, her eyes wide, jaw slack, completely shocked. For a moment, she was even too shocked to speak - something that had never been a problem before. Then her mouth began to move, and a moment later her voice started to work, too.
"But ... why?" she asked in a strangled whisper. "You can't!"

"I have to," Holly replied softly, "I'm not human, and in a few more years it's going to show."
The neko sighed and realized she wasn't explaining this well.
"I'm not doing this right," Holly murmured as she undid the tie to her bonnet, "Here..."
For the second time that day, she took off her bonnet to show Rose what she had been hiding for so many years.

Re: Going through Gemia - 119 4A
When Holly said she wasn't human, Rose blinked once again in surprise and was about to ask what Holly meant when her friend reached up to untie her bonnet. That was something no one had seen done before, and she was shocked again into silence.
When the bonnet came off and Holly's hair tumbled down, she could only stare in silence at the fluffy ears that were revealed.
It was almost half a minute before she showed any reaction whatsoever. Then she swallowed hard and continued to stare. Her eyes began to glisten, and tears pooled in her eyes.
"I don't understand," she choked out, her hands closing into fists at her sides.
