Miyuki nodded in agreement, "I agree, I would like to spend some time in Gaia... sometime and go through more research material on runes and gather more ideas."

While Miyuki worked in a different field than everyone in the lab, she liked dropping by and talking about concepts that were foreign to her like physics, and chemistry. Mainly because it allowed her in turn to think about how to design some of her runes. In fact, when she was doing research on the stoves, she talked to Eron at length about heat and how it was stored.

Shiro was good at talking about that sort of thing, but Eron could teach those concepts in his sleep, since that's what he use to do for a living.

Shiro smiled at Miyuki and patted her lightly on the shoulder. "Well, we'll get there eventually," he assured her. "Then you'll have all the time you want."

"Well thanks for your help anyways," Earendil smiled at him. "Sorry to have interrupted ... Whatever it was you were listening to."

"Lectures," Shiro shrugged. "Old ones. Not important, just helps me to think sometimes."

Earendil chuckled softly. "See you later."

He smiled at Lin, then gestured for his family to follow him back out of the lab.

The days passed along quietly, and since they had a lot of downtime on their hands, Miyuki felt there was no reason to neglect on her Pokemon's training. Especially since she had to deal with Ryo, and so she was outside with her Pokemon. Having Ryo lunge at her, while she blocked or dodged. Since he was so small, and new, she wasn't worried about being bowled over by the little thing.

Her other Pokemon were watching what was going on... well most of them, Suki was prancing around and messing with the local flora.

Andarien also had his Pokemon out and was training them. Eon was sitting next to Ai and paying close attention to the training while Zeus paced back and forth impatiently.

Suddenly the tent flap opened and Ira pranced out with Daenis and Mailon close behind.

"Training?" Daenis asked eagerly when she saw the other Pokemon and their trainers out there. "I was going to enjoy the weather whil I wait for Raina and her children to come, but might I join you instead?"

"Sure," Miyuki replied, "It's time Ryo gets some basics down, but I think Suki might need to let off some steam soon..."

Kind of in the same way Zeus looked like he did. Yasu was just mellow, and was basking in the sun's heat. If he had it his way, he might even nap in the forge, he just liked heat. Granted, he was a fire Pokemon and that made sense.

Ai, was a very good starter Pokemon, she listened, she was calm but not too mellow like Yasu, but not overly active like Suki or Ryo.

"Oh, wonderful," Daenis beamed. She took Mailon's arm and grinned at Ira. "Go for it, Ira."

Mailon wasn't as quick to let Ira go, though. He looked at Miyuki, his brow furrowed slightly. "Against Ryo or Suki?" he asked her.

Ryo wanted a go, but Miyuki knew better and grabbed the little eevee by the scuff of the neck. She lifted him up and looked at him blankly.

"When you learn to listen to me, then you can," she told the eevee plainly, "Suki, you're up."

Suki immediately stopped what she was doing and moved to set up across from Ira.

The other reason why Miyuki wasn't going to have Ryo go was because she judged Ira has having more experience than Ryo. While Ira wasn't trained perse, because both he and his owner were ice users and turned their room into a place fit for a white elf, Ira at least had practiced.

Besides, Suki really needed to burn off that energy. She was already prancing from side to as, as Miyuki held Ryo properly so she could give orders without being distracted.

Ira was ready for this. He braced himself and waited for the battle to begin. He knew this was about learning to protect his mistress, a task which he took very seriously, even if the need had not yet arisen. Already he was lowering the temperature of the air around him, his own body temperature reaching the point of freezing so that his fur began to freeze into icy shards.

He was ready for this.

Miyuki nodded at Daenis before saying, "Begin! Fairy Wind!"

Suki lunge herself forward and an unnatural wind picked up that seemed to tinge itself with pink and sparkles that raced past her and towards Ira.

Ira didn't bother waiting for commands from Daenis- she had never given him commands before, and he didn't expect them now. She wouldn't know what commands to give anyways.

Instead, he used his low body temperature to freeze the wind that was coming towards him. It was too fast for him to avoid entirely, but by making it colder he could make its effect on him less effective. He flinched as it hit him but stood his ground. Then he crouched down and shot shards of ice from his body towards Suki.

Suki tried to dodge, but still got nicked by a few and even got hit by one full on. Miyuki frowned.

"Dazzle, him! Try to get close, you know what to do."

Suki let off a dazzling gleam that seemed to get bright and blinding. Light, normally did not damage, but this would hurt if it hit, but Suki was using it more as a distraction to get closer.

Ira was smart enough not to stay in the same place and even as Suki launched the attack, he took off, circling around to try to get behind her. At the same time, he summoned a blizzard, and snow began to swirl around them both.

At the same time, Suki began to summon up mist that filled the terrain in pink sparkling mist. It wouldn't prevent her from getting hurt from the blizzard, and it was hitting her hard, but it would prevent her from being frozen on the spot. Unfortunately it would prevent any conditions from affect affecting Ira as well.

Suki, didn't stay in the same place, her target was also Ira, and she needed to find Ira to continue her plan.This meant, both were stuck in a mini blizzard trying to look for each other.

Ira's ice body ability meant that the snow around him only served to heal what wounds he had already incurred, as well as dampen the effects of any hits he would take as long as the blizzard continued.

Through the snow, he saw a brief flash of pink, and reacting instinctively, he used Ice Shard to hurl chunks of ice at where she was.

Despite the fact it was painful, instead of shying away from the ice chunks, Suki headed right towards it. It was painful as the shards hit her or grazed her skin, but it was the only way for her to "see" were Ira was. She threw herself head long into Ira and kissed when she felt she had hit.. something to heal herself.

If she hit Ira at all that is, it was a big risk on her part.

Ira wasn't fast enough, and Suki's kiss caught him on the forehead. A sharp yelp escaped him when he suddenly felt weakened, pain shooting through his body as he absorbed the damage that Suki had taken from the ice shards. A moment later he could feel the snow renewing its healing process, but he limped a bit as he circled away from Suki, more wary now. He would have to avoid that attack.

He lowered his body temperature still further, making himself cold both inside and out, then took a deep breath and watched for Suki's next approach.

It was really cold, and hampered Suki's movement, and only the mist prevented her from being frozen. However, this put the two at a stand still. It was hard to see, and any attack could alert the other of where they were. Also, Suki was pretty easy to spot when close enough, she was pink among whiteness.

"I think they're at a stand still...." Miyuki murmured thoughtfully, "Though that mist is going to disappear unless she renews it...."

So who was going to attack first?

Ira's white coat helped him to blend almost perfectly with the storm that was blowing around them, but the wind didn't bother his eyes and he was able to see Suki's pink body ever so faintly through the snow.

He exhaled forcefully, using his Frost Breath to try to deal some heavy damage. But even as he blew out, there was an excited bark and then a flash of brown as a dog ran into the midst of it all.

"Wolf!" came a panicked voice. "Get out of there!"

And then there was a sharp yelp of pain as the dog was hit by Ira's attack.

"Ira! Stop!" Daenis shouted in alarm. Almost immediately, the blizzard died, the snow falling straight to the ground as the wind vanished.

"Suki! Halt!" Miyuki shouted out as well knowing that the pink creature would have had a counter attack ready.

While she was worried about the dog, she couldn't help but think about how stupid it was. Honestly, she was spoiled from dealing with the Pokemon and Senka. The pink mist that had also covered the field, also disappeared. Suki on her part, blinked in confusion as all the snow and mist settled and melted away from the field.

Raina and her two children were standing on the far side of where the Pokemon had been battling, next to Andarien and his Pokemon, who had been watching the battle with interest. Raina was staring wide-eyed at the dog, which was lying on the ground and whimpering. Kaya and Dolph were hiding behind her skirt, also staring at their uncle's dog.

"What did you do to him?" Kaya asked in a terrified whisper.

Daenis stepped forward to collect Ira and check out the dog. Unfortunately, she'd had so little experience with animals other than Pokemon that she really had no idea what to look for.

"Let me look," Mailon murmured, gently ushering Daenis to one side.

"Ai..." Miyuki spoke up, "Please get Cael or Lanceriael?"

Ai yipped and sped off to find the two magic healers. Maybe, Miyuki thought to herself, if she ever found time (which she didn't have) maybe she would learn how to heal.

"I had Ai go get Cael or Lancariael, they can heal him, I suspect he probably has received a great deal of frost damage."

"I've seen it before," Mailon agreed as he looked at the dog's wounds. "Unfortunately, there is nothing that I can do about it. I can cause such injuries, but not heal them."

"But Cael or Lancaeriel can," Raina said hopefully. She knelt next to the dog. "Ainion loves Wolf, if he gets too badly hurt, he'll never let him come with us for the day again..."

"Yes," Miyuki nodded in agreement, "Though I wonder... does frostbite fall under the heal bell's abilities to cure?"

She glanced over at her brother, both Eon and Ai had heal bell, mainly because Eon was naturally toxic during battle. As far as she knew, ice could slow and even freeze a Pokemon, but they didn't tend to get frostbite.

Andarien blinked at Miyuki. "I dunno," he shrugged. "None of my Pokemon have battled with Ira before."

He didn't even know if Heal Bell worked on animals other than Pokemon. The Pokemon were different from every other creature he had ever encountered.

"And Shiro's works say it helps to unfreeze them... so I'm guessing Pokemon don't really get frostbite..." Miyuki added, "I guess we're waiting on the others then...."

She wasn't sure what the couple was up to at the moment or how long they would be waiting.
